A Day At Gamelion.

Hello Everyone!

We haven’t had an update for a while, but today’s is pretty special. And by special, I mean personal. We had our monthly “Pizza Day” today, and the guys got pretty happy and relaxed after a couple of slices. We took this opportunity to make a few pictures of each of the guys in his natural environment. I’m pretty sure you’ll find some of the pictures interesting, to say the least.

Let’s just head straight to the development rooms and get the guys one by one, almost alphabetically.

First of, we start with Adam. He is our game designer. His job is to make all the rules of the game, create designs of the levels and help the other guys with actual level production and playtesting.

Next we head to Krzysztof, AKA Admin. He is the lead artist for Furry Legends. He takes care of overseeing Piotr’s and Mateusz’ work, polishing the level aesthetics, and keeping tabs on everything related to graphics. He’s also a skilled photographer, that’s why you won’t see him on many pictures, since he’s the one taking them.

I’m gonna switch departments around, so we go out from the design room for a while.

The next is Jurek AKA Bondek. He’s a pretty relaxed guy. His main duties are writing code, and being late for work. He’s working with two other developers on everything that makes Furry Legends click and purr (yiff?). Character controls, active objects, popup things. He’s done it all.

Many of you wonder, what are the controls in Furry Legends. Adam prepared a quick reference guide, posted just over out Test Kit.

Let’s head over to Jacek. He’s the Lead Developer for Furry Legends. He creates all the documentation, workflow, task assigments and a lot of code for the game. He’s responsible for making everything click in the game. Sometimes he’s pretty swamped with the internal project paperwork, but the producer tries not to put that much on him ;-)

Next up in the code department is Krystian. He’s our technical advisor and a very talented guy. Currently he’s working on the sound subsystems to make everything play nicely, and add some depth to the world. He’s also responsible for majority of graphical effects we have in the game, Bloom, DOF, Shadows, it’s all his work!

Next up is Mateusz AKA Matti. He’s responsible for moving Adam’s levels into 3D and making sure they work. He’s also helping Admin with generic 3D work. He works a lot with the design and the Test Kit, constantly correcting, building and testing the levels.

Now let’s move to Piotr. He’s the newest addition to our team. His responsibility lies in creating all the LittleBigObjects in Furry Legends. Bushes, birds, houses, doors, starfish, cow, etc. He’s making our world lively and happy, one object at a time. Piotr is also working on all the textures for the levels.

There are two guys who don’t exclusively work in either of the rooms.

First up is Wojciech. He’s our Quality Assurance Lead. His responsibility is to make sure that the game doesn’t have any bugs, is fun to play and meets all technical requirements, so it can be published. He’s an avid gamer and really gets into the thing. I mean, you can just see that looking at him ;-)

The last guy, well, is yours truly.

Lukasz is the producer of the whole thing. His duties are to make sure that everyone works, and works efficiently. He’s responsible for removing all roadblocks in front of the team, but every now and then he’s putting some there instead. Add feature, remove feature, argue about the design, slavedrive with overtime. Its all him (or me). There’s also planning, he’s doing some planning I guess.. :-P

This is the core of the team. There are also other guys, responsible for the marketing, sound design, playtesting and running the whole company.
